I've always dreamed of a keyless front door entry.
This is our current lock. I really like these sets, but... we've had some issues.
My boy needs to enter the house on his own at times, and hiding keys outdoors isn't very secure. And bringing them to school has resulted in them getting lost.
Then there's when we go camping. We need to leave keys for our neighbours that care for our pets in our absence.
And how about tradespeople? Ever leave a key hidden for them to use, later wishing you could re-key your locks 'just in case?'

love this idea - no more worry about lost keys! We had it on our last house for the garage and didn't even know they had it for the main door - i think i might just have to head to home depot to check it out!

We have one on our back door and love it, and so does my daughter/blog partner. Ironically, we wrote a blog about them, too.
ReplyDeleteWe have the exact same one on our front door, and installed it for the same reasons (kids losing keys, house-sitters needing access). We love that the code can be changed as needed, and to lock the door from outside is just one button. There's also little intermittent flashing light that lets me know from a distance whether the deadbolt is open (green) or closed (yellow). After comparing the various keyless entry systems, this one seemed like the best one for the price. I'm sure you'll love it too!

My husband has a tendency to forget his house keys at home (he has multiple key rings-???) then if I take off during the day and don't get back in time to unlock the door, he's trapped outside until I get home. Yes, he could have extra keys made for each ring, but that would be too easy and an added expense. LOL!
